AAL RE-STRUCTURING PLAN

After lots of play testing I've come to the conclusion that the gameplay
of the current AAL faction sucks and is boring and not fun and the whole
orientation of the faction seems raped. By 3rd generation it was intended
as a balanced faction. It did not work, these guys were ment as annihiliators.
Their level of technology and principles are pretty much just that.
AAL is about obliterating your enemies into mush and erasing that mush into
atoms with impressive visual effects.


One important thing is to start from zero. Salvage anything 100% working stuff and nuke the rest. And even still make sure the naming is right.
Theres a strange bug that appears when certain units are removed or destroyed in AAL that spawn a number of particles that scatter and go straight to the bottom, eating away terrain in a very ugly manner.
Either has to do with the pilot eject system, or the wounds, the null emitter type wounds. In either case this is mostly focused on the MPAM, Freighter, Tank, Novastar. Else works fine.
Its bad because after the said particles(?) reach the border of the level, usually the floor, they have a high change of instantly crashing the game.

Another thing to note is to be careful with negative mass particles. It seems if they have a certain material or some certain event happens when a negative mass particle collides with an object, usually actor, it can cause a crash. Not so common, but happens.
Suggest taking a look in the experimental tech and use the properties of the quantum bomb and its particles. They have never caused a crash so far, and I've used them a lot.

Anyways. The current units that are good and should stay as they are with minor tweaks:

Pilot weapons. More rate to TER, sharper TES and better effects for both explosives.
TIC reload shorter and same for MTD. Switch those to bombs as cases like Darlos' guns.

Pilot Assault. give an automatic weapon or pimp the shotty
Pilot Infiltrator. more rate to TER. More cutting power to TES.

Drop pod-emitter effects
TTR-explosion effects.
Harvester-He's good. Just add Lua script to keep it in one place while not controlled. Vel = 0 type thing. Not pinning.
Vacuum bomb-I love it.

Units that have a good idea, but need heavy redesign:


Marine guns. Fully rethink and retool them to fit one marine. Think an omnigun that has it all. aka alternative fire modes. Maybe have 2 sets as 2 marines one being close range and other long range.
Marine. Make just one dude. A fully redone one with mech-like powers. Think meth's D9 mech. Maybe a powered armor with high mobility and multiple weapons. Think white glint or slayer + marine. Type-3 mecha styled unit, maybe?
Rocket. A fully redone. Make sure its longer and bigger than the current one. Similar to Rocket MK1. Possibly scrap completely and think of a whole new delivery craft system.
Dropship. Same as rocket. Think a revolutionary delivery system. Key objectives: Safe, fun, fast.
MPAM. I want it fully redone from scratch. Possibly deleted and replaced by a type-4 or type-3 Mecha. (See eradication wars)
Tank. Make more mobile and give a better weapon and effects. Remove leg emitters.
MPAM weapons. Cut the attachable shit and redesign all weapons to fit a Type-4 mech. Think very advanced.
Ragnaros. Fully overhaul payload and script, this will be a final space laser nuke spam platform.
Bunker modules. Sure. Maybe try a brighter color thought. And keep it simple.
Furnace. Make it work. New idea: Throw any TDE as fuel to generate X amount of money all the time. You may throw any number of stuff to generate cash.


Stuff that goes in the incinerator:

Runner. No, pilots are the lightest there is and they are million times cooler than this unit.
Cargorocket. No, the idea was absurd and the game doesnt support these too well.
Reaper. Too akward to fly.
Antimass. OLD. OLD OOOLD.
Megabomb. No, it just doesnt work, need something different.
Novastar. Ah fuck it.
Doors. Nooooo. Headaches.
